LAS VEGAS, NV As demonstrated by multiple installations among major networks facilities, Solid State Logics C Series digital consoles are an indispensable component of a contemporary broadcasters infrastructure. Since their introduction just four years ago, the C Series consoles have proven to be the premier audio solution for major television networks including the ABC Television Network, the Canadian Broadcast Corporation, CBS Television, Comcast SportsNet and New England Sports Network.
Solid State Logic will exhibit the entire C Series range, featuring new and upgraded consoles, at NAB 2007, April 16-19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (booth #N2526).
With the recent installation of a C100 Digital Broadcast Console in the legendary Los Angeles-based Studio 33, four of CBS Televisions studios are C Series-equipped. The C156 in Studio 33, home to television icons from Jack Benny and Danny Thomas to The Price is Right, HBOs Real Time with Bill Maher and other programs, joins C100 consoles in Studio 58 (The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson), Studio 56 (The Tyra Banks Show) and a C200 Digital Production Console in Audio Post 2 (The Bold and the Beautiful).
Like CBS, the Canadian Broadcast Corporation (CBC) is another four-C Series network. CBC operates two identical C148/64-equipped HD remote broadcast trucks, while its Toronto-based HD news and entertainment operations feature a C140 and C264.
Comcast SportsNet, a 24/7 regional sports network based in Philadelphias Wachovia Center, recently took delivery of a C124, to be housed in the reconstructed HD Studio control room to produce 5.1-channel audio. The C124 is the networks second C Series console, joining a C148 in Comcast SportsNets HD Live Event control room. Additionally, SportsNet New Yorks facility features a C100.
David Finocchiaro, Comcast SportsNets director of Engineering, spoke for many broadcasters when noting, The C100 has enabled our facility to achieve a level of audio excellence that far exceeded our expectations. We are very pleased with its design, performance and features.
New England Sports Network (NESN), the largest and most watched sports network in the region and home to the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins, recently added a C100-equipped, high-definition remote truck to enhance its high-definition acquisition, production and broadcast. The C164-equipped truck, built by National Mobile Television to NESNs specifications, joins two C100 consoles in NESNs Watertown, MA facility, all in support of the networks aggressive upgrade to HD.
Similarly, the ABC Television Network has purchased multiple C Series consoles for a variety of applications. At the networks New York headquarters, TV3, site of the prestigious World News Tonight, features a C156; while TV 24 (home of The View) and the networks Washington News Bureau both house a C140.
The C Series family of digital consoles is providing comprehensive solutions for busy network operations, comments Niall Feldman, Solid State Logic director of product marketing. The many networks that have installed C Series consoles demonstrate the products suitability for the most demanding and technologically advanced environments. With our newly expanded C100 family and upgraded C200 and C300 consoles, we are excited to continue meeting and exceeding our customers expectations.
